East Glos Club, Cheltenham
We are proud of our role as a trusted planning partner for East Glos Club, a nationally renowned and flourishing racquet sports hub in Cheltenham. Over the years, we have successfully delivered several strategic development projects to help the club modernise and expand.
Our most recent success involved securing planning permission for a major new padel facility. The scheme introduced three covered and four outdoor padel tennis courts, complete with professional floodlighting, to meet the surging demand for this rapidly growing sport.
Because the site is located within a sensitive Conservation Area, the project demanded a meticulous approach to design and heritage impact. Our team navigated these complexities by producing robust planning arguments from pre-application to application stage, that carefully balanced heritage considerations with community needs. We successfully demonstrated the significant recreational, health, and economic benefits of the expansion, ultimately persuading the Council to grant approval.
The state-of-the-art padel courts are now completed, open to the public, and helping the club thrive as a premier sports destination. This project highlights our ability to secure approvals for complex leisure developments within highly protected historic environments.
