Climbing Wall, Bentham
Providing planning support for 270 Climbing, we assisted in securing planning permission for the redevelopment of the aging Bentham Country Club (the ‘Bentham Domes’) to create a class leading, state-of-the-art climbing and high ropes course.
The site is located in the Green Belt and Cotswolds National Landscape and these constraints presented significant challenges in terms of meeting all the client’s aspirations for achieving an Olympic Standard facility. Working collaboratively with Landscape Consultants, and by ensuring the removal of the existing white inflatable Domes, we were able to demonstrate that the redevelopment would result in an enhancement to the National Landscape whilst maintaining the openness of the Green Belt.
The 270 Climbing Park is new established as one of Europe’s premier adventure destinations. featuring the UK's tallest outdoor climbing wall at 18 meters, indoor walls at 17 meters, one of the most comprehensive bouldering centres in the country and one of the tallest and most challenging ropes courses in Europe.
