Project
Shepherd’s Huts
Rural Tourism
There is no doubt that the staycation has seen a resurgance over the last couple of years. We have many enquries for tourism development, in particular shepherds huts. We have recently gained permission on behalf of our clients, for the siting of 10 Shepherds huts in the Cotswolds.
Our client wanted to site 10 Shepherds Huts within an existing orchard with the vision for guests to feel at one with nature. The site is on a popular walking route and near to Hailes Abbey, a scheduled monument. The Glocuestershire Warwickshire Railway also passes near the site.
We worked closely with the Council to overcome initial objections relating to heritage and archeology. Permission was granted in Spring 2022 and we’re looking forward to visiting!

The staycation has emerged as the new popular choice for UK holidaymakers in recent time. People are taken the opportunity to return to nature for a more basic holiday experience. At Zesta, we have worked on many proposals for shepherds huts, safari tents and log cabins. This provdies a low-cost type of holiday accommodation but a major boost to the rural economy and choice of accommodation available. We were able to achieve this here at Hailes, which sits at the heart of a wealth of visitor attractions within the Cotswolds
