Hugo Purcell

Assistant Planner

Hugo graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Urban Planning from the University of Gloucestershire in the summer of 2026. During his studies, he developed a particular interest in the planning process, with experience gained through placements with various charities and Local Planning Authorities.

In July 2025, Hugo started work experience at Zesta, gaining valuable insight into the private sector. He now works as an Assistant Planner, supporting the Senior and Principal Planners across a range of projects, drafting reports, submitting live applications and assisting with planning matters.

In September 2026, Hugo will begin an RTPI accredited MSc in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Birmingham, continuing to develop his knowledge and experience within the planning profession.

Alongside his planning work, Hugo also supports Zesta’s social media presence across platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram.
