Project

Truck Stop

Commercial Development

Zesta Planning have been appointed to assist in the expansion of Teddington Hands Tuck Stop, Tewkesbury. It is well publicised that the provisions for lorry drivers across the country are in short supply. The proposals include a new welfare building and restaurant. The building covers 430 square metres and will improve the functionality across the Truck stop site.

This facility is well placed just off the M5 and is strategically placed for drivers travelling between the Midlands and South West. This new facility will ensure welfare and security for over 100 drivers that stay at the Truck Stop per night. This development will meet the Government’s aspiration for the delivery of improved roadside transport.

The recent shortage of lorry drivers in the UK is well documented and this is largely due to the poor welfare and security facilites available for our drivers. At Teddington Hands, a serviced roadside truck stop facility that accommodates over 100 vehicles every night, we were able to deliver a much needed welfare building, accommodating restaurant, rest, changing and showering facilites. These facilities are essential to the welfare of our drivers and the future of the industry. It is a privilage to be able to assist with the delivery of this much needed facility at Teddington, and at other truck stops in the region
