Project

New Dwellings, Churchdown

Residential Development

Zesta successfully secured full planning consent for five new contemporary designed dwellings within Churchdown, Gloucestershire. A challenging site, with surrounding development, significant local objection and on-site protected trees; we worked collaboratively with our client, the local Member and Local Planning Authority to achieve support. This culminated in a strong officer recommendation for permission and approval by Members of the planning committee. The development provides five new family sized homes within a settlement which has an identified housing need. The development also remediates a dilapidated and underutilised site within the centre of Churchdown.

Despite the policy support for this development, the process of achieving permission was challenging due the intense local opposition directed towards the scheme. The determination process really did highlight to me the technical experience we have within the team and sheer ability to problem solve and address development challenges – all whilst working collaboratively with the Council officers.
